Bold innovations have been carried out on the basis of traditional processes, significantly reducing the investment in the plant and cutting natural gas consumption by approximately one – third. In particular, a breakthrough has been achieved in the technological transformation of the reformer, the core equipment for natural gas conversion. This innovation has withstood the test in the completed plant. In terms of the technological innovation of hydrogen production from natural gas reforming, our company has applied for and obtained six national patents, one US patent, and one EU patent. The hydrogen production system of small – and medium – sized natural gas cylindrical furnaces has received support from the Technology – based Small and Medium – sized Enterprises Technology Innovation Fund of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Moreover, a 50 Nm³/h natural gas hydrogen production unit was provided for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
